Klaus Palme is a Professor at the Center of Applied Biosciences and the Center for Systems Biology at the University of Freiburg (Germany). His primary areas of interest of research focus on signal transduction processes using plants as a model. Klaus graduated as a biochemist from the Medical Faculty of Ulm University. He worked for several years at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies (San Diego, CA), the Institute of Genetics (University of Cologne), the Max-Planck-Institute for Plant Breeding and the Max-Delbrück-Laboratory. He has worked as Prof. of Biotechnology at the University of Umeas (Sweden) and currently at the University of Freiburg. He has published over 150 papers in high impact journals. His research has been awarded several prices including the Max-Planck-Research Price.
